St George’s Junior Weybridge

Any recent opinions on St George’s Junior? I’m considering it for my son but at a recent visit I was a bit concerned that it is too big to focus on pastoral care, and also that there was too much emphasis on Catholicism. I know obviously it is a Catholic school but if only 10% of its pupils are practicing Catholics, I felt that 4 classes of Religious Studies a week from Reception is too much. They also mentioned that they pray 3 times a day. Is this correct and is it just a simple Lord’s Prayer? I’d love some insight please.

Late reply but could help?
They don’t pray 3 times a day, the little ones sometimes do a one sentence long prayer before starting assembly. The amount of RE has changed but it’s 4 lessons at the senior school not the junior school. I am not sure how catholic they are in all honesty as they seem to be pushing a one sided gender identity trend onto the children.
The school has become too big in the last few years and it seems the children are being crammed in. My dd was at the junior school she seemed happy enough there.

Hi @ampletime thats really helpful, thank you. Sadly it seems a lot of schools are following this gender identity trend, which is rather worrying. Do you feel that it has become too big to be nurturing? I wondered whether especially at nursery at early years whether it might be a bit overwhelming to have so many kids? Thank you!

There are more children the older they are. The senior school is stuffed. I think at nursery age you will be fine, and yes they are nurturing at that age.
