I’ve been invited for an interview for a school business manager position and the letter states there will be an in tray activity/assessment for 30 minutes before the interview. Has anyone come across this before ? TIA

Yes it's lots of different jobs you need to do which you need to prioritise. Then they throw more and more things at you to see how you'd cope.

Could also be some safeguarding questions in there. We do in-tray tasks but the majority of the time the actual interview is what seals the deal. Good luck!

Yes make sure you are up to date on the meanings of safeguarding, prevent and GDPR.

If there is a safeguarding issue in your in tray, do it first.

I used to do this job. You'll likely get a spreadsheet to work on and figure out some budget related bits, possibly a safeguarding question.

Will be for you to prioritise tasks, make sure you put safeguarding and safety before everything else then after that time critical ones.
You may have accuracy proofreading task and spreadsheets to check.
Read up on school website to see motto and priorities and safeguarding policy
Will probably also ask about confidentiality

Please could anyone let me have the Q&A document for SBM interview, that has been posted previously. I would be grateful to have this, as I have an interview tomorrow.
