ds had mid year exams and hasn't done as well as he might reasonably have expected and seems to be losing ground compared to his peers. Obviously we will be looking into this in more detail with the school but I was wondering if anyone knew of a back to basics type package, kind of a Write Start or Toe by Toe, for KS2 Maths suitable for a Year 5 to gain confidence.
He now thinks of most workbooks as babyish and even if he starts one he lacks the motivation to finish (whereas his sister will whizz through happily). We play lots of board games but he struggles with the rote type learning which underpins most maths.
