Dean Park v Currie v Nether Currie primary schools

Hi all, we're currently house-hunting in the Currie/ Balerno area, having decided this is the area we want to settle in. We've been renting in Currie since last August whilst we decide, so know the area reasonably well.

We've seen nice options in catchment areas for all three local primary schools (Currie, Dean Park and Nether Currie), and just wanted to seek local parents opinions of the three schools and if there's any big differences between them? We've ruled out Juniper Green & Ratho. We're happy with either Balerno or Currie High School later, as they seem similarly valued.

With thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Best,
S, K, and R.

You might be better posting on the scotsnet board to get info. My family live in the area and from what I hear the schools are packed because of all the new houses. Are your children of school age because, if you are trying to get in to any year other than P1, there may not be space. Have a look on the council website for school catchment areas. It is a lovely area, hope you find somewhere you are happy.

Thanks Kaffkooks, didn't realise there was a Scottish version, will post there. Little one is 3 so will be going into p1. We like houses in all three catchments hence asking about schools to see if we should rule any of the catchments out.
