Hi there! Looking for a bit of advice. Our children have just been accepted into Brighton College and so this summer - we will be making the big move. I’m slightly worried but that’s another story - kids are super excited! 😊

Im not super familiar with Brighton per se - but have heard that Patcham is a lovely area for families. Does anyone have any advice on other places? We’ve driven through Ovingdean and Rottingdean which is pretty cool too!

Thanks if you’ve got this far!

Just popping by to say hello as I have a child at Brighton College. I don’t know Patcham v well but Ovingdean/Rottingdean both lovely. Lots of BC families live in Hove (Hove Park v nice but £££), Fiveways, Withdean & Preston Park, all really nice depending on what you’re looking for. Oh and of course Kemp Town if you want to be right near the school (Sussex Square and surrounds are beautiful). Good luck with your move, Brighton is awesome.

Hi @Schoolgates that's very very kind of you thank you. I was a bit worried about Hove, as it seems there might be traffic in the morning (we are perpetual rushers with the kids!) Would you mind if i messaged you privately? Happy to keep messaging on here too tho!

Hi, ex BC parent here (pre-prep to sixth form). Rottingdean & Ovingdean are lovely and great in terms of transport as long as you're close to the seafront. Saltdean worth considering too. There are far more buses that just run along the coast road. Traffic is horrendous during peak times if you live past Saltdean and are trying to get into Brighton. Hove to BC is very difficult during peak hours. Good luck, it's a great school and my child had a wonderful time there as well as a great education.

Obviously BC is very close to RSCH so accommodation is very hard to find. I personally love Preston park area but traffic will be rubbish. Look at Ovendean ,Saltdean and obviously Rottingdean which is my favourite place but very expensive.
