Help! Can't find birth certificate for admissions

We're having a major sort out and overhaul and files are everywhere at the moment. We just received a letter through the post today to say the school need the council tax bill and birth certificate by Friday. I've managed to find the council tax bill and a certified copy of the birth certificate. Does anyone know if the certfied copy is enough before I rip the house apart?

I submitted our paperwork for DS last week. Ours was a photocopy of a certified copy of the birth certificate and the admissions lady said it was fine and ticked it off on her list.

The certified copy is the birth certificate, that's what they say on them.
