Primary schools in Ipswich commuting distance

Hi all! My partner is due to start a job on the edge of Ipswich. We are new to the area and some insight into good primary schools would be useful as to where we should look to locate. Anywhere ideally 30 to 60 mins travel from there.

My daughter has already started reception elsewhere so not sure how it works in general with school moves in year and we ideally don't want C of E. If you don't want C of E can you specify this on any application even if it is the closest school?

It's all new to me so any tips appreciated.

Which side of Ipswich will he be working. Do you want an easy commute into London? are you looking rural or in the town

Hi cyclamen queen. It's the west side for work and we don't mind about London. He's prepared to travel from north, south east or outlying towns/villages if it means nicer place and better schools. We have visited and saw the traffic can get busy.

If you don't get the school you want you will be offered an available space at a school that is the closest to your house. This may not be the closest school. This may be the only school with a place. Could be miles away but available.

This will be any place that is available regardless of faith sorry.

I’d start by asking the council which schools in/around Ipswich have places then use that as the basis for your search.

what kind of house are you looking for and wafts your budget? That might also help narrow down your search.
