Handwriting help

Just wanted to pop on here and ask if anyone knows of a device that you can type on.. that's not a laptop or tablet or something with internet, something purely for typing. My 8 year old is autistic and extremely bright however his handwriting is honestly never been good and no sign on progression. I just feel so bad for him doing all this writing and you honestly can't understand it. I know children get laptops to type but he couldn't be trusted as he would just go on internet or something else. If anyone knows of such a thing that could help please reply! Thank you

Maybe try eBay for a small typewriter?

Could you not just use a cheap laptop and just don't connect it to the wifi - if you don't give them your home wifi password, they won't be able to access the internet anyway!

Thank you for the replies! I suppose I could do the laptop I was just curious if there was any kind of device specifically for writing/education purposes but it doesn't look like there is!

There used to be, it was a keyboard with a small display.

I'd actually look a tablet with handwriting recognition.

My writing is terrible - arthritis and dyslexia is not a good combination but my old Samsung Q1 recognises my writing.

I'm saying a tablet because handwriting is a skill that he probably needs to develop but a tablet would allow him to practice and produce neat work.
