Hi,

My daughter loves reading - we need a chapter book recommendations for her. Some of her favourite books:
“The Miraculous Journey”,
“Matilda”,
“The Girl Who Drank The Moon”
“the misadventures of Max Crumbly” etc..

Thank you so much.

I'm reading the Fred series by Simon Philip to my 6 year old.
Good storyline and varied vocabulary

My 7 year old loves Toto the Ninja Cat, the Magic Treehouse series and the Flamingo Hotel series plus the Secret Seven and the Magic Faraway Tree books

My 7 year old is obsessed with Rainbow fairies, of which there seem to be about eleventy billion. I would also like other suggestions.

fizzyfood · 11/03/2023 20:17

The Treehouse series.

7yo DS has liked 13 storey treehouse series, anything by Tom Fletcher especially the danger gang, Tom gates, the worst class in the world, some Jacqueline Wilson. He's reading the sheep pig at the minute.

Thiswayorthatway · 11/03/2023 20:46

Horrid Henry

Was also going to say my DS adores the Tree House series.

Tidypidy · 11/03/2023 21:15

Almost anything by Dick King Smith

The detention detectives is one my DD recently enjoyed. She also enjoys the treehouse books. Wizards of once. And it pains me, I dislike him a lot but it was from the library, she really enjoyed Fing by David Walliams.

7 year old is currently obsessed with investiGATORs. Amelia Fang is also a big hit. She's got/read all the books mentioned above too.

BertieBotts · 11/03/2023 22:09

A Series of Unfortunate Events is brill

Amethystanddiamonds · 11/03/2023 22:14

@Jules912 have you tried the Isadora moon books (and Mirabelle and Emerald). We seem to have about 8000 rainbow fairy books. There are all the animal ark, rescue princesses, etc that are all as equally predictable and tedious about the same as the rainbow fairies.

Sandysandwich · 11/03/2023 22:20

The Holly Webb books

Internationalwomendayheadquarters · 11/03/2023 22:22

My 7 year old daughter loves the unicorn series and has raced through them.

HairyFeline · 11/03/2023 22:27

My girl loves the How To Train Your Dragon series. There’s a great audiobook series with David Tennant which is hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable on long car trips.

Jules912 · 12/03/2023 09:42

She did pick up an Isadora Moon book at school and enjoy it, shall have to look for more
