advice - move dd y5 from private to state? (Oakley primary academy)

Good morning - I'm looking at Oakley Primary Academy with a view to starting dd there for Y5. Is there anyone out there who has any recent experience of this school? Interested in moving dd out of the private sector and into a village-school environment. Anything on sports, academic provision would be useful; also is there after school care? Has anyone else moved their child from private to state education and been happy with that? Thank you in advance. :)

Hi there - I'm sorry nobody has replied. I guess it's just down to luck as to whether anyone has experience of that one particular primary school. I must admit that I didn't know where Oakley was, so had to look it up - near Milton Keynes?

I would think that a few people might have comments to offer in response to your last question (about how children adjust to moving from private to state primary) but they might not have read that bit if they didn't open the thread because they don't know anything about Oakley...

You might want to try an 'advanced search' for threads about 'private to state' as there have definitely been some in the past. Alternatively, I'd suggest starting a new thread just for that question.
