We’re trying to decide whether our daughter should do the 7+, but it seems the options for girls are limited. Does anyone have any views on this? I know there are 24 spots at SHHS, 30 at Highgate, 35 at city but those seem to be the only big intakes for girls? Habs has 10 and NLCS perhaps 7?

That’s right. 7+ is not a huge entry point for girls unfortunately. If you want a bit west then you can add Latymer to the list with a 22 intake for girls.

@Sevenplus Do you know generally how many girls sit the assessment? Shhs last year said 100 girls for the 24 spots (which is an improvement on 300 for 24 spots at 4+!! We’re unsure of how fierce the competition is with a lot now doing the 4+, who is left doing the 7+?
We have offers from mulberry house and hampstead hill and are also unsure of which offer to take.

so I know city junior which is coed had 370 children sit this year for around 75 final places. SHHS would have about 150 sitting I assume. Habs for 10 seats had a lot sitting too. It’s tough but very doable. My DD sat this year and got offered Shhs, Highgate and City.

Can I pm you pls?

SHHS would definitely have more than 100 for round 1 as 90 were invited to round 2 this year (no idea how many applied to round 1)

NextStepsUndecided · 10/02/2023 19:10

@Frogusha thanks for that! Is it about 50% that get invited to the interview?

can I ask where else you applied for your dd?

Sure pls pm me

@NextStepsUndecided not sure about % but sounds about right. It’s a 4 hour assessment in round 1, 1.5 hours at round 2. Wouldn’t make send to invite majority for round 2 back.

we also applied to Highgat, NLCS and City.

may I ask which school you ended up choosing (and whether you are happy with that decision?) thanks so much
