They are starting two new free after-school clubs, dancing and football. There aren't enough places for the expected uptake, so they have done a draw of names. What I think is great is that both boys and girls' names went into both draws, they can then decide whether they want to accept, so they're opting out rather than having to opt in. In practice probably more boys than girls will accept the football club invitation and more girls the dance club, but it gives them the choice without having to especially request. I don't know if this is the norm these days as it hasn't come up before (covid etc) but seems like a great model to follow!
