SHHS 4+ waitlist

Hello! Our DD has been put on the 4+ waitlist for South Hampstead Junior School. We have a couple of other offers but this is our number one choice so we are holding off from accepting anything else. Can anyone share their experience of the 4+ waitlist? How many girls are waitlisted and is there any movement historically? Many thanks!

I’m really sorry @ISW2022 , the criteria for shhs seems to be something else and they only offer such minimal places. At 7 they have a whole extra class, hopefully you will want to apply again and are able to find a place you are happy with for now. Lots of hugs it’s not a nice feeling…

@ISW2022 really sorry. In Hampstead , schools are so small and all have very limited place. We are still on wait list for the school i registered immediate after birth when I was on hospital bed …. They are all so so over subscribed with sibling policy.

@Ivyfly I know… NW London is it’s own bubble really. Part of me is annoyed that I got myself sucked into this madness. But hey ho… my DD is still going to be in a great school, albeit our second choice. Did you end up getting the school you wanted?

Honestly it is such a bubble and one thing I found really helped my nerves is not being in the ‘crowd’ until the end since my daughter isn’t at a hot house nursery. We got a school that we are happy with in the end also. @ISW2022

@mumoftwo86 same here! Thankfully we were abroad on holiday when all results came out so I didn’t have to deal with pushy nursery mums asking me where my daughter got into 😅😅😅 (I still got the occasional WhatsApp msg of those who wanted to brag though..).
