Lambrook or Elstree prep schools

Please help!

We have places for our children at both these schools and are really struggling to choose between them. Anyone with recent experiences at either school?

I have no experience of lambrook but you will not be dissatisfied by the Elstree ones. I caveat it’s depends on what you are looking for though.

Thank you, looking for a supportive yet academically challenging environment. Great pastoral care, ample opportunities to explore interests, flexi boarding and down to earth peer group. Too much to ask?!

We are moving from London preps and looking for a more 'muddy knees' upbringing for our children.

I would look at Manor Lodge, Habs , St Hilda’s , St Margaret’s and Radlett Prep.

Was it hard to get into Lambrook?

My 8 yo Daughter has been at Lambrook since nursery. It has been a brilliant choice for her. She is an only child and was painfully shy when she joined. Now she is confident and happy and loves going there. She started flexi boarding this year and adores it. It’s a chance for her to be herself and independent from mum and dad (but still calls to say goodnight which is lovely). They have large grounds to enjoy with a small holding and an orchard where they learn about cultivation and husbandry. They have a great balance of sport, creative and performing arts plus a state of the art IT and science faculty which was the decider for us. The head teacher is wonderful too. I’d recommend meeting the head and having a tour to help you decide.
