Offers at Wimbledon High & Holy Cross - Reception 2023

Hi! We are very happy to have received offers at both schools we applied for, but now we've got to make the big decision. I've read all threads that mention theses schools but was hoping maybe to come across some more "recent" opinions/points of view? I understand both schools are very strong in most areas and either should be a great choice.. A few weeks ago we were quite set on HC as it is such a beautiful school, with a lot of green and lots of emphasis on music, sports etc (we are catholics so like that but not a must) .. but now that we've got a spot at WH we don't know what to do. Wimbledon High seems to be half a step ahead, recognized in all London and national rankings, etc and also quite strong in sports/arts (I think so anyway) Would also mean no 11+ exam stress etc. TBH I'm quite confident she'll do great in either, she's very smart but also likes sports etc.
Location-wise is tricky to decide as well. We are a fairly young (mid thirties) couple with two daughters and we'll be moving from Notting Hill this summer, so no house just yet. We'll probably rent for a year to get to know the area better. WH has obviously better access as we are planning to be in Wimbledon.. but HC area (down to New Malden etc) might be easier to buy further down the line etc..
Anyway, I know there are lots of variables and ultimately we can only decide ourselves, but would appreciate if you have any input or if you recently went through the same decision. Thanks :)

Suggest you visit both schools around drop off and pick up times and see if you like the cultural fit etc. Also check League tables, before Covid due to a Times article stating grade inflation. Though leavers destination over the years is interesting to review since you can see if there are a wider uni course subjects of interest. Not having 11+ unless you want to is nice.

Congratulations Jackie!

We also received an offer from WHS and yet waiting to receive two other results in the next couple of days. It is really a "sweet burden" to receive multiple offers from good schools isn't it?

Don't have any suggestion on your "problem" but based on the research I made, WHS is a decent school. I'm sure your DD will thrive in either school!

Sorry to resurrect this thread but which one did you all go for and why? Visited both schools and so confused!
