Late Document Submission!

Hi there,

I submitted my son's primary school application before the deadline on eAdmissions and its status came up as 'submitted'. It asked for supplementary documents to prove address etc. but I didn't realise that the deadline for these documents was also 15th of Jan! Now the website doesn't give me the option of uploading them, so I've emailed them today.

Will this count as a late application? Is/has anyone else been in the same boat who can offer any clarification? I'm absolutely freaking out over the possibility of missing out on our first choice because of this misunderstanding :(

This is the confirmation email I received after initial submission:

__
You have now completed your online application for a reception school place for September 2023. Please now attach the required documents needed to complete your application. Please see pages 8-9 of the Starting Primary School 2023 brochure for details of documents required. Please scan in PDF format and log back into eAdmissions to attach the documents.
^^
Please see link for a copy of the Starting Primary School 2023 brochure.
^^
You will receive an email during the evening of 17 April 2023 telling you the name of the school that has been offered to your child.

Can people understand my confusion??

I’m not sure, I can see your confusion, that message starts by saying you’ve completed your application but then says in order to complete your application you need to attach the required documents. I think to be on the safe side it would have been best to attach them before the deadline, hopefully it’ll be ok though.

Are you sure you needed documents to prove address? In my area they use council tax records and the only schools that needed supplemental forms were the religious ones ( we didn't apply for those so can't help with how to submit).

@GhostMum I think you should be fine. Give them a call.

Hi

Ive just done exactly the same thing as you with the supporting documents and am beside myself - would you mind letting me know what happened with your application?

Thanks x

GhostMum · 16/01/2024 19:02

So it was absolutely fine! I contacted them and they said that so long as the application itself is submitted by the deadline then that’s all that matters. We got our first choice of school in the end 😊 x

Oh thank goodness, I’m glad it all worked out for you. I phoned our local authority and they said similar to me, so hopefully it will be ok for us too. Thanks so much for updating too, it’s definitely made me feel better! X

Glad it’s eased your mind a bit. I was completely freaking out last year as you can probably tell 😂Hope you get your first choice! x
