Supervision in the changing rooms

DS goes to an independent school where boys and girls have separate sports lessons and separate changing rooms. Although the boys are supervised in getting changed at the beginning of their sports lessons, the actual lesson/sports activity tends to end at break time. The boys are then expected to get changed during break. They are left alone in the changing room, and are invariably unsupervised. DS is in Year 4 and I am a bit concerned about them being left alone from a health & safety aspect. Can any school staff advise on the legalities here? The school is well staffed.

The NSPCC have good advice @SafeAlways

Im not sure it’s a legal requirement but I think it’s part of the lesson. As getting changed at the start is as well. I think ending at break and staff rushing off for their break isn’t on. Most schools come into the changing area early to facilitate changing with supervision. The school should have a sport supervision policy in the light of safeguarding too.

I agree, it's timetabling/safeguarding slip up by the school and you should make them aware.
