Hi, Happy New Year…I am considering this school for my DS and wondered if any current or recent parents had any feedback to share? Keen to hear opinions on the school, particularly around the teaching quality, pastoral care and 11+ prep.

DS is 7 and would be going into Year 3 in September. He is at a state school currently. He is above average academically but didn’t get through to the top selective schools at 7+ (City, Westminster etc). He is not being stretched or inspired at all in his current school and is getting frustrated. We are aiming for a selective senior school so would like to move to a prep to help with the 11+.

Thanks so much in advance, please PM me if you prefer!

I am in the area and know many families who have sent children there or currently attending. All seem very happy. My daughter had a reception place there and would have gone if she hadn't also been offered a place at Bute House.

It's a lovely school. As you say, it's not in the same league as the top competitive preps, but they still have good leavers results. Highly competitive academics is not the be all end all for happy well adjusted primary age children.

Also if you are aiming for top secondaries you are probably going to have to supplement any school prep with tutoring anyway.

Thank you @DilettanteMum that’s really helpful feedback. Now I just need to think about whether I can afford to live in the area 😅

Hi all - we have a daughter and trying to decide between Pembridge and Ravenscourt Park Prep School. We live a 12 min walk from RPPS and a 15 min drive from Pembridge. So there's obviously a logistically easier answer ... but looking for any feedback from current parents on the quality of education and extracurriculars at RPPS and the level of pressure at Pembridge. We have a smart, creative, sensitive and rebellious 4 year old!

Friends who have a DC there are happy with it and feel their child is well supported

@azmommy We have children at RPPS and I cannot recommend it highly enough. We live 10 mins away and it is really great being able to walk there, I wouldn’t choose a primary I had to drive to personally due to traffic and it’s nice if their friends are within walking distance. Can’t comment on Pembridge but nothing but great things to say about RPPS. Strong on academics but they also have loads of fun.
