off school in case of illness

please if child has sore throat - how long can she take - if over 5 days - do we need to see gp

Until feeling well enough for a full day of school (and not coughing and spluttering germs over others). There's usually no need for any doctors' note - that is occasionally requested where a pupil's attendance is already very low and being monitored, but you'd have had a letter if that were the case.

If it goes on a while then it may be worth consulting the pharmacist or GP, but to see what they recommend, not for a sicknote.

Don't usually need a doctor's note, but I'd be seeing a doctor anyway if they'd been too ill for school for more than 5 days.

If it’s just a sore throat, does she need to be off school?
