Waiting list for year5 in RGS

Hi all,
My DS is in waiting list in reserve 4 for year 5 in RGS. We still have time until September, can someone please pour your inputs based on your experience on chances for him to get an offer.

Very few boys leave, and even less so in years 4 and 5. I’m afraid I would say the chance is slim to none.

Do you mean for RGS Newcastle or another one?

Probably quite unlikely to be honest, I know loads of parents try to get their kids in at the top end of juniors to avoid having to take the chance on getting a spot in year 7.

Have you heard anything on this? We are also waiting to hear about any movement on waiting list

we have contacted In December , and we were told DS has moved one place ahead.
Still waiting for further updates

I know of someone who was offered a year 3 place in the summer holiday last year. It's a bigger entry point than year 5 so more chance of someone dropping out, but shows there is last minute movement. What are your other options?

Thanks. Think just tricky with there only being 8 places this year. Dame Allan is our other option for year 5

Are you holding a place at Dame Allan's? If not, they have offered their year 5 places.

Can I ask why the RGS is the only school you're considering? Just being nosy.

Have you heard any update from them? We haven’t so feels like time may be running out!

We contacted them in February, they said there is no movement. Just want to know what position you are in the waiting list?
