Cambridge schools from Reception

Hi, I recently overheard some mums saying they had already applied to schools for their LO for when they are 4, but they were currently babies (6 months old). Any thoughts on when you should apply to schools for reception? Also any recommendations for central Cambridge area? I like the look of Stephen Perse.

Will you be looking to send your child to their nursery/pre prep? Then I would look asap. Our DD's nursery has a waiting list so long we had to get her name down when I was pregnant. Obviously, not everyone goes onto the prep school so depends what entry you are going for.

I'm sure you know but just in case, state school applications are only available September - January before they start and very much based on catchment area. (In our area anyway!)
