Danes Hill School, Oxshott

Hi,

Are there any current Danes Hill parents out there who can share their experience of the school please?

I was very impressed at the Open Day, in particular with the new headmistress, who definitely spoke my language around education and childhood etc. We are due to go back to the school for a second look, but in the mean time I would love to hear fellow parents' experience of the school- good and bad, and also get a sense of what the school community is like.

The head is regarded as the best prep head in SW London, she came from St Paul's juniors.

Yes, I am aware of her background and it definitely shone through when she spoke. Danes Hill is obviously a very different environment to St Paul's, so I'm interested to see what her plans are for the school etc.

I was pleasanty surprised to discover that Danes Hill seemed more academic than I anticipated, with some children going to selective senior schools like RGS, Hampton, Guilford High etc.

All in all it struck me as really balanced and a happy place! I'd love a current parent to confirm this for me.
