on a more practical note, anyone knows about the noise limitations at the schools playground? can children still play active games/run around during the breaks? how limiting is the playground in terms of physical activities during the breaks?

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:07

They have a playground?

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:12

I am sure it’s a wonderful school with promising future . But r u sure they have a playground? ( I am not being sarcastic here . ) they have a playground ??? If they do . I will go pay £250 now online .
i thought the deal breaker was the No playground?

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:29

Instead of gaslighting me and putting words in my mouth and the patronising aggressive accusation : You should be very very grateful that I share the important insider news here (and share my concern) . I lived there on the same road for 15 years, studied there, interned there, walking my dogs there daily . & After all the rollercoaster of 7+ this Xmas and preparing a relaxing spring, i found disturbing receiving those emails from this school 3 days in a row suddenly out of blue encouraging for application & payment .
So I think I am qualified to say something— my opinion without been attacked & question my concept of reality .
if the future classmates” folks are so aggressive and defensive and almighty and ungrateful . then it won’t the school for us. Good luck !

@Candyfloss2 I believe they dont have a dedicated (own) playground but they use the large green space adjacent to the school during the school breaks

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:40

@Melabela10
i think maybe you are right—By looking at photos online when Prince Charles visiting,
my memory there was handsome young trainees busy pushing trolleys of pills piles of a4 papers , and on a warm day, solicitors sitting on grass eating sandwiches , or barristers wearing wigs and black gowns walking back to office with clients together back from court .

Armarium · 27/02/2023 17:41

@Candyfloss2 but if you lived on the street, you'd surely know the area well and if there were indeed concerns about it being crawling with child-snatching crims visiting barristers (which would be unusual, I have to say, barristers tend to be briefed by solicitors who do the liaising) ... you'd surely already know all about the location and not have sat your son for the 7+ at City in the fist place!

I don't have and will never have DC at the school (it's too far away from us), I only commented on this thread to correct your odd comment about Hampton Prep and Hampton School, but I am perplexed about what axe/axes you have to grind here and why you've reacted the way that you have to being called out on it.

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:44

R u crazy to put “ child snatching “ into my mouth ?

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 17:49

So much for the know- it - all corrector and online police-officer illogical mum .
i am impressed with ur sense of justice online and impressed with ur logic and your 66 and 99 quotation of “ child snatcher “ from god knows where.
well I certainly won’t share any more info here to you.

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 18:09

For someone who””don't have and will never have DC at the school (it's too far away from us),”” make all the effort & hassle to just come into this topic “ city junior 7+ feedback “ on the urge of correcting someone’s some words with a distinguished detective nose. I should call u “ justice Armarium “?
you clearly are very competitive and need to have the final say.
hope I never meet your type at school gate.

Melabela10 · 27/02/2023 18:16

so if anyone has any information about the school's green space used during the breaks, this would be very much appreciated, thanks!

NW32023 · 27/02/2023 18:55

I was satisfied that the meadow was sufficient for my son. He’s sporty but more tennis and running than ball sports so you’d need to satisfy yourself if your child is desperate for ball sports at every opportunity /break time. At the end of the day a lot of junior schools don’t have extensive playgrounds (UCS doesn’t for example) but it’s clearly more of an issue for some kids than others.

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 21:39

Do they coach them to a bigger public park weekly ? or to senior school to use facility maybe ?

bstrong0805 · 27/02/2023 22:11

I have a family member studying at CJS so first hand Information - small meadow for break time, coram fields behind the school for sports once a week and swimming and basketball at the senior school - trying once a week but still working out schedules. Hope this helps.

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 22:15

@bstrong0805
thanks !!! Now doesn’t sound so bad!!

Candyfloss2 · 27/02/2023 22:23

@bstrong0805
i don’t know meadow is public or not. Coram field always have a security guy at door . 10 mins walk on a quiet street with zebra crossing door to door .

NW32023 · 28/02/2023 10:31

The meadow is private for break times.

NW32023 · 28/02/2023 10:32

I am quite a cautious type and was well satisfied it was safe and that the School and City of London have done their due diligence on this.

Candyfloss2 · 28/02/2023 10:50

That’s great if during break time it’s private !!
i saw some photos of their teaching seems v good . Just curious those current teachers are those they borrowed from Senior school just to support kids until all new vacancies are fulfilled ? Or everyone is fresh new.
last year was first year.
now last year is second year obviously they need to recruit more teachers now . And for the full 4 years bit by bit …as they grow …

animalprintfree · 01/03/2023 18:28

Some of the current teachers taught at CLSG prep.

Candyfloss2 · 01/03/2023 18:34

I heard some information ( just gossip ) from some education agency that year 4 comes up a space now.
don’t quote me and don’t bet on this for accuracy. Just thought this info maybe helpful for some mums .

Mumpreethi · 06/12/2024 19:50
