Hi all I am sorry this is my first time ever on Mumsnet so forgive me for asking any silly questions.

I have 2 🙏

  1. Would anyone happen to know how many children apply for the 7+ exams are Bancrofts per year?
  2. Please can someone share an honest review on how to prepare for a 7+ exam at Bancrofts, who had a child get into Bancroft at 7? I think I am very behind.
I have heard stories of pupils prepping in the last 5 months and getting in!

Thank you ❤️🙏

Hello interesting post. Did your DD get into Bancrofts, hope she is okay

Thisisus · 27/09/2023 21:25

Hi, she did get in!

I know it’s competitive but not sure of exact numbers.

I’d say it can be done in five months but it would be an intense five months! What year is your child in and is your child in a prep school or a state school and then maybe I can advise based on that…

Hello @Thisisus congrats that is wonderful for her! Hopefully she is loving it there.
My DS is in a prep school and will be sitting this Jan!!

we are doing some kind of bonds or past papers every day minus Thursdays. Like you said intense.

i will be grateful for some advice and how you did it. Did you ever have doubts or think she might not get in. Perhaps she is also a good exam taker.

Around 45 children from his school are applying!

Thank you in advance

So my DD was also at a prep school, which helps as they tend to be a year ahead in terms of academic level. 45 is a lot!

I would say that there is a very good chance your DS can make it. EPP papers are really tough and I would suggest that you get some for maths and english and slowly do them also from oct half term break because it will make the exam seem much easier.

I also got her to join a seven plus group- if you DM me I’ll give you details of the tutor. All of the group got in. You might want to consider that as she will really get them ready for exams with the timing etc as likely it’s the first formal exam your DS has ever taken.
