My DS (6) has had a torrid few years at school. He has no diagnosis but has been served four fixed-term exclusions from his state primary school for emotional dysregulation. School and the Govs are not particularly supportive or empathetic, nor are they doing the things they say they will in order to support my child and prevent further exclusions. I have just applied for an in-year transfer to another state primary in the Borough because I think the situation at our current school is, frankly, toxic. Can the state school to which I’ve applied refuse a place for him based on his previous exclusions?
