St Faith's vs Kings College School Cambridge

Our little one has been offered a place at St Faith's and Kings College School and we are seriously confused at the moment. We have seen numerous threads regarding the schools and it has been a mixed bag but nearly all were posted several years ago. I would love to hear any feedback from any current pre-prep parents regarding the schools.
Thanks.

Which side of town are you on? This may affect your choice as traffic is seriously bad in the mornings. I am sorry I don't have current experience of either, but unless your child is seriously musical, in which case I would go with King's, I think St Faith's is a more engaging and lively educational environment. I'd also possibly go with King's if you are thinking about top boarding schools for 13+ and St Faith's if you are happy to stay local (Ie the independent day schools or the Leys)

My DN is at St Faiths and my DB said it is wonderful.

Thanks @joan12 Thats a good point.
King's is closer for us and easier to get to, I used to work near St. Faith's and aware it would sometimes take me 45 minutes to an hour to get there. We don't plan on sending our LO to boarding schools, we want to be local and will aim for schools in an around Cambs that we can travel to.

Thank you @MarmiRae would you mind sharing what year is your child in? And what are the class sizes?

My DC are at St John's College School and are very happy. But yes, choose somewhere close to home if you can!

Our DS left St F’s in 2015. There is a new head now and the head of pre prep has also left. I would say change in both areas is a good thing. However, the basic culture of traditional prep school feeding into minor public school (The Leys) is the same. So a lot of sport but also good music and drama.

There are quite a lot of threads about Kings on here. Probably as mixed an experience as St Faith’s.
