STAHS and SEND

I will post this in Special needs too, but wondered if anyone had experience of St Albans high school (prep school) and mild SEN.

There's nothing on their website-which I'm worried is telling-but I'd rather have some real experience as well!

DD's needs mean she's not very coordinated, she's academic but can struggle socially. Fit is obviously really important-can anyone give any thoughts?? Thank you!

There is an entrance assessment, where they assess whether your child would be a good fit for the school. Presumably they look at social interaction as part of that.

@schoolconundrumhi, just wondering if you got any more info as I have exactly the same question! Offer letters have come in and I’m desperately trying to choose between STAHS and Abbots Hill prep for my girl with SEN.

We've been there since reception. It's a lovely school.

@Mummayaa The pastoral and SEN support at Abbots Hill is superb. DDs best friend moved there from a more academic school (severe dyslexia) and she is thriving.

STAHS secondary doesn’t have the best reputation for supporting SEN but I have no experience of the prep.

Thank you! I am concerned about STAHS rep for SEN but they have made the offer fully aware of my DC’s needs so not sure if that means they’re comfortable they can support her.
