Hi,
I am looking for places to move in Hertfordshire next month.
I am thinking Cheshunt and broxbourne but have not decided yet. This is the first time i am coming to UK ( office in liverpool street)
My LO is 7 years old and need Special needs support schools.
Any ideas , which school is best and process to apply / what i need to do to get admission.
i would appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

Do you mean DC will need support at SEN Support level or do you mean they require a special school?

The former is SEN support within schools at a lower level than an EHCP. Applications for DC under SEN Support are via the normal admissions process. In certain circumstances they can be given a place in a school under the Fair Access Protocol.

For the latter you will need an EHCP - a legal document that sets out DC’s needs, the support they require and the provision they will attend. Once you are resident in the LA you can apply for an EHCNA. IPSEA and SOSSEN are charities that have lots of information about the process and model letters on their websites, they also have advice lines. The SN boards on here are helpful too.
