Anyone willing to share views on schools in the area. Particularly Akiva, Manorside and Martin.

On the brink of buying locally and trying to gain some insight that goes beyond ofsted and results.

Any views good / bad / other gratefully welcomed

Akiva is absolutely wonderful. Many of my friends send there currently as well as children who are teenagers now

Ahh thanks for the reply @afewtoomanychoices, that’s good to hear. If you have the time I would love a bit more detail. How is it wonderful? How’s the pastoral side of things? Do lower / middle ability children do well too or is it only brainboxes that thrive? (ours is still a toddler so it’s a bit early to tell). I can see the results are brilliant but is that down to the teaching, or is it tutoring?

Would also be interested to know where kids mostly go on afterwards, as the house we’re looking it isn’t an obvious shoe in for any particular secondaries. Do most of the kids go private / try for grammars or do any go to regular schools?

A lot go to the Jewish secondaries (JCOSS, JFS etc). Some go to privates. Big mix. And as far as I can see (my own children did not go), it’s a big mix of abilities and it’s very nurturing according to my friend. Very happy environment she says
