Can anyone explain how Ishow there is greater prejudice to my child than there is to the school? I dont really understand what it means. Its year 6 and was oversubscribed last term but is now just full. Its our catchment school and run by the same academy trust as dds old school but we dont have any special reasons to put down. Thank you for any advice.

Why is it that you want to move her there? That’s usually a good place to start.

You’re trying to show that it is worse for your DD not to get a place than it is for the school to have to take another pupil.

If the class is full, why would you want your child to be in it?

What does full even mean for a tear 6 class? I've seen classes up to 34, but I'm sure bigger exist.

Some classrooms are physically too small to fit in more children.

In general, if admitting a child takes the year beyond PAN, the school will say it is full.

What it means is that you have to show that the disadvantage to your child from not attending this school outweighs any issues they will have from having to cope with an additional pupil. You need to identify the things this school offers that are not available at the offered school and that are particularly relevant to your child. For example, if your child is particularly sporty and this school offers more sporting activities and/or has better sports facilities than the allocated school, that is something you should bring up.
