Hello Mums,

Hope you all are doing well!

We moved into the Sutton/Cheam area and I need to apply for Schools for my 2 DS.(Y3 and Nursery)
I am looking for a school with good academic and afterschool clubs.

Can you please help me with a little feedback on local primary schools and how will you order these primaries.

How will you compare Leo academy Schools like Cheam Park Farm, Cheam Fields, BrookField Primary. Also, any views on Westbourne primary.

How about Cuddington Croft Primary School is it comparable to Cheam Park Farm or Westbourne Primary?

Leo Schools and Westbourne is oversubscribed so my best bet will be Cuddington Croft as they might have a space available.

Your inputs will be really helpful.

Thanks in advance

Hi, I am looking at similar schools mentioned in your above post. Can you please share if you got through any of the schools ? How was the overall admission process?

Recently moved to Carshalton and are looking for an academically good primary school. Can someone please be kind enough to shed a light in this. What’s Brookfield Academy like?

Hello @Yellowbus , I have been here from 1 year and I can clearly tell you that just moving in the area wont help you secure a place in a good primary school. Most of the schools are over subscribed especially the good ones and there is no chance you will be able to get admission even if you are in 1 mile from school. You have to be as close as possible, being around 0.2 - 0.5 miles from the school you are targeting as a best bet to get into the school. Talking about Westbourne and Cheam park farm specifically.

It may also depend on the Grades you want an admission. Also, its highly probable that you will be offered a place in a far away school approx 2 miles if are further than 0.5 miles from you desired school. I was close to 0.8 miles from both and on the waiting list we were 22-28 which was a bummer and even after an year of wait we still couldn't get in.

So, I have my kids in Cuddington Croft primary school in South Cheam ( Under Surrey Council ) which may not be as well know as sought after Sutton ones but still a better option and closer too from the ones I was offered.

Hope this helps you to make a decision.

Let me know if you would like to know anything else.

Thanks Learntobemum😊 I hope we are able to get the kids into our preferred schools. All the schools there are oversubscribed.
