Dear everyone,

I have recently moved within the catchment area of beehive school, chelmsford. Now I am torn between admission for my ds in beehive lane community school or st annes. We would like him to get support for 11+ exam.

Any experience or thoughts much appreciated

Regards
Soni

Has either school actually got a place available? (I'm assuming that you are talking about a mid-year application, rather than a normal admission round application for 2023 for Beehive Lane).

My ds will join reception next sep. So we are deciding the pathway.

My son is starting reception this year..we are planning to relocate close to beehive lane..wanted to check on his chances of mid year application if we live close to school by 0.3 miles

It won't get you a place if there isn't a place available when you apply, but it will influence your position on the waiting list.

Have you checked whether the address you are moving to is within the priority admissions area for the school?

https://secureapps.essex.gov.uk/cas/Priority-Admissions-(Catchment)-Area.aspx

I don't know what shape the area is for Beehive Lane (0.3 miles isn't necessarily within a given school's priority area, as they are not 'a certain radius around the school'), so you could possibly be nearer, but at a Criterion 4 address than some with an address that falls into Criterion 3, who would be ranked higher on the waiting list.

Dear jennan
quite an imaginative post!
wild and innacurate accusations against me....false claims about school practice and a made up profile.....quite a list of misdemeanors.
you will be pleased to know i am not nor have ever been to jail
it is impossible to cheat at SATS (you would know that if you actually had a clue)
and your profile says you have 2 boys (no mention of the daughter you claim in your fantasy post)
i hope that reassures you - but i would suggest you take down your libelous post soon...or the lawyers will come knocking - all the best!
