In-year application follow-up?

We’re moving this summer, and I’ve submitted applications for my two children to start at a new primary in September. Our top choice is a school that manages its own in-year applications so I applied directly. The school said I could submit applications just before the half term, which I’ve done. I knew I wouldn’t hear anything during half term, and I also know it can take up to 15 days to get a placement. My question is this: should I expect confirmation from the school that they received our applications? I’ve heard nothing, and I’m a bit anxious (probably overly so). Since I sent the applications just before half term, I’m worried it got lost in the shuffle and I have half a mind to write again just to confirm. Is that a bit much? Never done this before so not sure what to expect.

I wouldn't expect anything other than a letter either offering a place or refusing a place. I have never known a school send out confirmation that they have received an application.

Ok, thank you. That’s good to know.

I’d say it’s reasonable to asked for confirmation that they have received.I’d drop them a friendly email to check as it will obviously put your mind at ease!
