Moving after accepting school place

Hi
I've recently accepted DD’s reception place. Trouble is that I think I may have to move before she starts. We’d stay local, but not within the school’s catchment. Does anyone know a definitive answer on whether she could lose her place if we lived before she started? I’ve googled but not found the answer.
Many thanks

Ask the school

At the moment I don’t really want to draw attention to the fact we might move otherwise I would do that. Just wondered if there was a standard policy or if it was down to individual schools. This is an unpredicted move due to possible relationship breakdown so not known at time of applying. I am concerned that the school will think this is deliberate and withdraw her place.

They are unlikely to remove the place, unless they think there’s been some fraud (such as living at a temporary address for just long enough to get the place, then returning to a permanent address). Have you checked the LEA’s website?

I’ve not checked the LA website so will do that. We’ve lived at this address for over 8 years so no fraud concerns.

They don't usually remove the place as long as everything was applied for in good faith.

When my daughter's reception teacher and TA did the home visit in the September she started, they saw the For Sale sign and asked lots of questions- we were actually moving closer to the school but I got the impression that, yes, we could've lost the place. Hopefully they would be sympathetic to relationship breakdown but do tread carefully
