Hi!

Looking for views and experiences of Bishops Road School, Bristol please!

In particular:

  • What range of activities/experiences do they offer - on their website the emphasis is on English, Maths and Sports - what type of after school clubs, extra curricula activities or opportunities to do creative or outdoors activities do they offer?
  • What is the level of pressure like? They are a high achieving school and I worry that this could translate to pressure/stress for the children.

We're trying to get a feel for Bristol Schools for our little girl.

Thanks for your help :-)

Jennie

We have a child in yr 1.

There are a few options for after school clubs including multi sports, athletics, gymnastics, arts & crafts. In older years they offer hockey, frisbee and some other bits too I think.

One morning a week this term has been outdoor learning. They made a catapult.

There’s a separate after school provision which is run from a building on the school field. Lots of playing outside, making things, generally having a good time.

Our child is reasonably able and doesn’t seem at all pressured or stressed. I think they just want the children to do well.

It’s a big school. It feels small, as in cosy.

Good luck!
