We are planning on moving from Hampshire to Dorchester. Our catchment school would be Damers First School. If we move before the end of term we would need a YR 3 and Yr R place. If we move in Sept we need a yr 4 and yr 1 place.
I have emailed the school admissions team and they advise the only Yr R place is in Manor Park First school which was inspected in Feb 2022 and is inadequate. They said there are no year 3 places in Dorchester.
So does anyone who lives in Dorchester can advise on how long roughly you waited to get a place at your preferred school.
If I can’t get a year 3 place locally how far would the child have to travel?
Also any opinions on first schools and middle schools in Dorchester?
