Stafford - Primary comments?

Hello all (First poster here)

We (with 3 kids, 4yo, 10yo and 14yo) are planning to move to Stafford in June.

Is Weeping cross a nice area to settle down?

I have researched the following schools - any comments?

1. Oakridge Primary School
2. Barnfields Primary School
3. Leasowes Primary School

Any comment on Walton High School?

We after for a 5 bedrooms property too.

Any of those primaries will serve your children well. All are slightly different, slightly bigger or smaller but all are good solid schools. I would happily send my children to any of them.

Walton is also the favoured high school in the town and has been for a long time. Its a good size, with 7 form entry. Most children will come from Leasowes, Oakridge or Barnfields. It also has a very successful sixth form.

You may struggle to get a mid year admission for your teenager and the primaries are likely to have a waiting list for spaces.

If you're new to the town then Weeping X is a really friendly relatively safe place to move to. Cannock Chase is easily accessible for open space and there are a variety of small shops within walking distance. If I was moving to Stafford its definitely where I'd pick!

Do you have any recommendations with Secondary Schools (apart from Walton)?

I have got Blessed William Howard Catholic School and King Edward VI High School on the list. Do you have any comments on these two?

I open to more school options.

We are having property viewing over the next few weeks.
