When do primary schools find out pupils' secondary destinations?

Do primary schools receive a list from the LA on/around 1st March of all their children's secondary school offers?

DD and I are wondering how her headteacher knows which secondary school she's going to!

The 1st was National Offers Day so, as parents, you should have been informed.

We get the details of all places offered the day before parents are notified.

Yeah. Primary schools receive confirmation just before parents do. However, this only happens for the pupils who live in the same authority as the school is.

The teachers hear the day before parents - at least dd's teacher was aware the day before we knew.
But you should have heard by now. Emails went out on Tuesday and we had a welcome pack from school in the post today.

Thanks, all. I was asking specifically when primary schools receive destination information for their current Y6 pupils.

@Iamnotthe1, that's interesting that they only hear about children living in the same LA as their school.

DD's school is only about 300m away from the boundary with another LA, with a third LA only a mile away. I would estimate that at least 1/3 of the children in DD's class live in the neighbouring LA, so it sounds as though the head will only have partial information at this stage?

We live in the same LA as the school, which explains why the head knows DD's destination.
