RGS Prep Guildford - traffic? losing local friends?

We're considering RGS Prep for our son and we're in Hindhead. Does anyone know if that's a nightmare journey in the rush hour? Also did anyone make the move from state primary and if so how did you find the change from having friends very close by to, presumably, much further afield?

Absolutely wonderful school. We did a similar journey and it is fine as quick up the A3. The traffic is bad within Guildford but you learn what time and route to take.

Note even though it is renamed RHS Prep (it used to be separate and called Lanesborough), you still do the 11+ and no guarantee of RGS - but equally it will be the best preparation for RGS possible.

Much better than all the hindhead schools which struggle with numbers and aren't very academic.
