Primary private school near Wells Somerset

Hi all, we are considering moving our children from state school to private school due to various reasons.

Only two choices around us here
Wells Cathedral school
Or Millfield prep

I like WCS, but I know it is an open campus and every time I pass by I can see students walking from on place to another;
I really like Millfield campus plenty of space but worried that children gets bullied if we are not the super rich families.

Anyone got any advice?

Both are great schools - I’ve got friends with kids at both and have never heard of bullying because of parents perceived lack of wealth. I’m looking at both as a Senior School option as my DS is in a prep school currently.
We’re not super wealthy and I wouldn’t be put off Millfield at all!

What about Sidcot? It's a little way from you, but I've heard good things.

Yes that’s a bit out of our way but thanks for the suggestions. We live in Wells and can’t deal with school run that’s longer than 30 minutes😅

I went to WCS and have friends with kids there now. It’s a really lovely school. The junior school campus is fairly self contained - the senior pupils will be the ones you are walking along the liberty. I’d send my kids there in a heartbeat (in fact one of the main reasons I’ve chosen the school they are at is that it has a very similar feel to WCS).

I went to WCS it was a great experience. My ex went to Millfield and rates it.

We had friends at sidcot who didn’t do very well and his step kids currently go their but he doesn’t want to send our Ds there as he hasn’t been impressed with how his step kids have got on. WCS or a Bristol one ate his choices
