Good prep schools near Canary Wharf, London

DD sat for 7+ independent school entrances, got waitlisted for several including our back-up school (turns out was not that much of a back-up).

I am looking to start working on a Plan B and looking for any recommendations for good non-selective prep (Primary) schools around Canary Wharf.

Welcome any recommendations/suggestions

Thanks in advance

Are you looking only at independent schools? Have you looked around Greenwich - Pointers School, Colfes, Blackheath, etc?

Thanks for sharing these Mumadvice1234, I had not explored these yet and will have a look. I had tried searching on Google for north of the river and could not find suitable names.

Colfes, elegant, how far are you prepared to commute her?

Eltham!

I know a few people from Canary Wharf who take the coach to Dulwich Prep. Also look at non-selective schools south of the river - Pointers, Colfe’s, Heath House.

Thanks everyone! this is very helpful

@itwasntaparty - ideally no more than 30 minutes from/to Canary Wharf

Have you looked at Faraday School?

Mum2000K · 09/02/2022 19:17

thanks @PenelopeRain, no, I have not yet; will look them up as well.

Hi @PenelopeRain,
We actually looked into Faraday School recently. While it may suit some families, we had some concerns during our interaction. In our experience, we found the admissions process lacking in transparency and the communication quite disappointing. It also raised questions for us around staff qualifications and the overall ethos of the school, especially regarding inclusivity and international families.

I would definitely recommend visiting and asking detailed questions about staff credentials, diversity, and how they handle different family backgrounds — just to make sure it’s the right fit.

Hope that helps!
