Just looked up thedates for DD's term, expecting her to go back next week, but she isn't back til the 8 th of january, is this the same everywhere???

Yes, it's the same here which I think is great. Last year they were off for ages before Christmas and back on the 2nd January which I thought was outragously early!

Might depend on whether you break up before or after Easter , as it is so early . We only get a 10 week term, 8th Jan to 20th March, but others are going through until 4th April.

My son goes back to residential school on 6th Jan I go back to my school on 7th Jan.

ds yr 7 goes back monday 7th, dd yr 5 goes back tuesday 8th.

DS goes back Thursday. He broke up on 19th. Really want to get back to normailty now.

my dd not back til 9th jan !!!!!!

would have prefered to have the week off before christmas as i am sure the teachers would have preffered aswell

My 2 broke up on the 21st December and go back on the 3rd January - they are both still knackered and could really do with the extra 2 days off.

We go back the Monday after

Beginning of term is 3rd, but they have 3rd and 4th as Inset days, so we get the extra weekend. Thank goodness - not ready yet!!

Anyone else got children at school in Kent? My son is at residential school, its maddening they have several days off in the middle of term between half term and easter hols!!!!!!!!!!! Will prob have to have time off work..................
