Brighton Primary School

Hello

We are moving to Brighton with three children, 2 already in primary school. We are looking for the most nurturing, caring environment we can find.

Our firstborn started in a local community state school that had large classes and he didn’t fare well— he was bullied and the school’s response made us decide to leave, so both have been at a very small independent since then (class sizes smaller than 10)., where both are very happy and settled.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in Brighton or nearby that wouldn’t be too shocking of change for them? We prefer lower fees if going down the independent route again (or a school with generous bursaries), and are open to state again but need it to be a place where childrens’ emotional well being is top priority.

Thanks for any help you can offer Blush

I've heard good things about Deep Dene (independent) - link here:

I’ve heard good things about deepdene.
Also annanschool.co.uk/ which is further afield but sounds amazing.
Unfortunately the lower cost one we wanted to send dd to closed in lockdown so she’s at state school in a class of 30. It is quite nurturing though.
Which area are you moving to?
