Primary School Application

Evening, I'm hoping someone has some advise. We applied for a primary school in Bucks by the deadline. Today an Ofsted report was issued for our no.1 preference as inadequate. So I went to the bucks website today (after submission day) and removed said school. I'm now worried that my application will be treated as late. Does anyone know the rules arou d how Bucks works? Will my application go to the bottom of the pile for the 3rd round allocations, or would this be disregarded and offer sent on 19th based on original application submitted in time and then we can reject or go on a wait list. I know I should have left it but reacted in a panic now I'm sooooo worried and anxiety is through the roof. Please does anyone have any advise?

Buckinghamshire allow changes of preference up to 29th January. Based on their published admission arrangements, you should still be treated as an on-time applicant and your new preferences should be used.

@prh47bridge thank you for your reply, please may I ask how you know this? Is there somewhere on the bucks website that states this (I could have missed it in my panic) or is it from experience?

As you can tell from the time of this post I am losing sleep over this.

Thank you

I found and read Buckinghamshire's co-ordinated admissions scheme for 2021-22. You can see it at www.buckscc.gov.uk/media/4515290/buckinghamshire-coordinated-admissions-scheme-2021-final.pdf. Paragraph 47 is the bit you want.

@prh47bridge thank you sooooo much, you have no idea how helpful u have been, I'm actually sat in tears after an awful night. You don't thing that's referencing the people that have changed address it's referencing someone like me who submitted on time but just wanted to change order of preference and remove said school?

It is a little ambiguous, but I would argue that it applies to anyone changing their preferences. The only alternative reading I can see from their published information is that they will use your preferences as they were on the closing date. If they treat you as a late application, I would say you have a good case for appeal as that is contrary to their published information.

@prh47bridge thank you, I received the below responce when emailing the applications team

"If you want to change the order of your existing preferences e.g. promote or demote the order you can do so. We will also add new preferences, which we will include in the 1st round but they will be late preferences. A late preference will only be considered after all timely preferences."
