My DD is on the waitlist too!

Kavi8 · 02/02/2022 13:40

I am hoping that there should be some movement my next week.

LucySong · 02/02/2022 14:14

🤞🏻Hope so too

Amarzoo · 06/02/2022 01:15

We have an offer from City of London and also Latymer. We are just not able to decide what is best for DD. Latymer is definitely closer for us commute wise, but City Senior school seems to have great outcomes. Any thoughts from parents on these schools. many thanks

LucySong · 06/02/2022 09:43

It’s coed versus single-sex school. City is probably more ‘siblings’ friendly, if you have younger or older children.

Amarzoo · 06/02/2022 10:01

Thank you @LucySong. Don't have a sibling. We are ambivalent about single and coed as well.

Amarzoo · 06/02/2022 10:02

I saw on another post fee concerns about pastoral care and also heard the streaming in subjects puts a lot of pressure and parents resort to tutors. Is that true or just an edge case ?

How closely affiliated are CLS boys and CLS girls in the curriculum and what is the overlap in the management? Their logos, etc. look different. It's mentioned they are partner schools and share ownership structures.

We are only knowledgeable about the CLS boys school which overall feels like a better well-rounded and academically higher standard school than LP.

If commute was not a huge factor, that would be a wise choice. Co-ed vs single sec shouldn't be a major issue as it seems like CLS has most of their events as joint events for the boys/girls schools. In that sense, you probably get the best of both worlds of being in a single-sex school having elements of a co-ed school.

Amarzoo · 06/02/2022 10:03

Typo. It's not fee. But few concerns.

mrspotatohedz · 06/02/2022 11:42

One thing I would think about is that if you live to the west of CLG you may find that a lot of classmates/ friends live in a very wide area - especially tricky at prep school age. They will be coming from all areas. Latymer will have pupils from central London but is still more of a west London school.

Kingfisher21 · 08/02/2022 19:37

Has anyone on the reserve list heard back from the school? Thanks

Alexia234 · 10/02/2022 10:38

Bumping for you

Curly1907 · 14/05/2022 01:18

Has anyone from reserve list received an offer?

IBCD · 29/11/2022 09:32

Hi, can people share some details about how many kids appeared for the exams and how many called for group assessment? What was the group assessment day like?

Sandrair · 05/01/2023 18:06

Hi. My DS will be sitting the 7+ at latymer next week and wondering if anyone can tell me more about the exam questions/interview process? Thanks

Sw2707 · 10/01/2023 09:17

Hi Sandrair, I'm not quite in time but found this thread after dropping off my DS this morning and feeling rather nervous! Anyone else? I'll rollow this in case anyone can give insight into the interview process too.

simona28 · 13/01/2023 18:18

Did anyone on this thread get Latymer interview invites?

Mum2boyz23 · 13/01/2023 19:22

We did not get invited back to interview. Did your DC?

Yimika20 · 13/01/2023 19:32

My DS got invited for the interview on Wednesday 18th really don’t know what to expect.

Sw2707 · 14/01/2023 17:46

Yes, my son was asked back for interview. Not sure what to expect beyond the limited guidance they gave in the email. Has anyone done it before?

simona28 · 24/01/2023 11:39

Any idea when Latymer Prep final results will be out?

mumofTKN · 09/01/2024 18:15

anyone's kids sat the exam today? DD seems to think it was really easy but not sure I can believe that!

Latymer exams are usually easier than other schools, but that also means their cut-offs are pretty high - especially given just 22 places for each gender. So the children have to literally fight for every single mark.

Thanks simona28. Do you know anything about the interview?
