When will i find out if dd1 has got into her first choice school?

Sorry im a bit confused about getting dd into primary school.

We recieved a form in the post to put down 1st,2nd and 3rd choice for primary schools. I was told to send this off by the end of october (which i did) it then stated that places would be given by november.

When will i find out if dd has a place at out local school?

She starts in september 2008

We find out around mid-January here

We don't find out till March here. I guess it varies according to where you live.

our deadline is January. We don't find out until 31st March. Your LEA ebsite should be able to help.

Thankyou, i will check the LEA website, i was a bit worried as my neighbour knocked the door a few weeks ago with a message from the school asking if i had handed the forms in for dd?

Did you contact them to ask if they'd received the form? Hope they haven't lost it.

23rd April here according to LEA website.

Thats what i was worried about wessexgirl, maybe i should phone and see if they recieved it.

Depends on your area. When we applied for state schools application deadline was October half term. First allocations came through around Christmas (ie those undersubscribed relative to applications) with end February being the final date for offers to be made (once oversubscribed and VA schools had processed theirs).
