SPJ waitlist 7+

Hi All, desperate mum calling
My son has been waitlisted at SPJ for 7+
Is there anyone in the same position?
Does anyone know how many over offers SPJ made this year?

Anyone will release their place?

Hi Waitlist1234, first congrats. I can appreciate you feeling disappointed or stressed but please remind yourself that this is a great accomplishment for your DS already!
I am not sure about the numbers of offers. Some people said that SPJ will be making 70 offers (so 16 over offers) - although I can t see how it could be as much (as they could be at risk) but that is all the info I have seen!

@Waitlist1234 think when moving to this stage, all boys (either on waitlist or receiving offers) are at quite similar academic levels so it’s already a great achievement! I think there is good chance the schools will move to WL - from my personal observations, I know at least 10 boys receiving offers from both SPJ and KCS, and they can select only one unless they put down deposit for both schools. We haven’t considered WUS which will distract additional offer holders from the other two schools.

Suggest you check with admission team to see what’s the rank your DS is on the WL. Good luck!

I think that it’s unlikely that WL will move before the deadline on the 27 Jan. Many parents with double offers put off making up their minds until the last moment…. Last year the WL for Kings moved on the day of deadline.

As mentioned above - around 15. I spoke to Mrs Shaw and she told me that they’d make around 70 offers for 7+.

@Waitlist1234 , you can tell from reading the other threads re how many ds sit all 3 schools and get 3 offers. The preps know the historical acceptance rates so they know how many places to offer. This is the same for all private schools at all the entry points, they all have their own formulas based on past acceptance rates.
