Hi, I am looking for a school for my daughter to start reception. She is a quite shy kid so not great for doing assessments. She is very smart though and love languages but needs encouragement not to give up when things get more difficult. Does anyone have kids in these schools? We will likely move abroad for high school so not worried about exams. We shaping her character and achieving potential. Thanksss!!!

Hi there, from what I hear all good schools, but from personal experience I would have no hesitation in recommending QCPS. Our daughter loves it, and has grown so much in confidence, aswell as academic ability, due to the school’s nurturing ethos. The girls are confident and kind, and the Head has done a great job alongside the pandemic (!!). Hope this helps, good luck. X

I’m also a parent of two girls who have each gone through all 7 years of QCPS and can only agree with the prior comment: the school has always had an extremely warm, welcoming ethos (which was expertly upheld even through the worst phases of the pandemic) and Laura Hall - now into her second year as head - has reinforced and built upon what she inherited. She and her team are helping to form girls who are confident but also grounded, learning how you need to fail in order to succeed and aware of the city and environment around them.

Academically, the school has the knack for knowing how to push girls at just the right pace so that it’s right for them but without causing stress (I can say this as my Year 6 daughter is doing 11+ admissions right now!). To top it off, QCPS offers exceptionally strong music, drama and dance performances, again on the principle that everyone gets involved and with the focus on what the girls can achieve vs. where they started out. And I must mention the enormous passion behind sports in the school including a ski trip to Austria in February (fingers crossed!)

Sorry for the long response but I really cannot speak highly enough about QCPS and am only sad our 10 year relationship with the school will end in 2022 as I run out of daughters!
