Is anyone else’s child doing the LEH test next week?

Yes, my DD is doing it. Not sure we are ready though. How are you feeling about it? I am worried about the effect of the pandemic on DDs education over Reception and Year One and no idea if we are feeling alone in this and other schools/children have raced ahead of us!

Hello! Sorry for the delay. Yeah I’m glad the date is coming but we’ve done so little I regret it! But equally it is what it is. I think schools will all have had different experiences and a lot guided by parents rather than schools in terms of time and what they can put in during home learning v having to work at the same time! I imagine most are behind where they may have been but perhaps so have parents with all the time in the world who excelled during the process!

Is your DD in a school that prepares for 7+ Taj? My isnt so I have no idea of the real level of expectation! I know they said ot would be like a year 2 set of classroom activities but that might vary a great deal on the school!

Nope ours definitely doesn’t expect people to leave at 7 so no prep at all! It’s comprehension creative writing and maths so much the norm I guess!

Same here, but its more what level they work to or expect that I wonder!

From what I understand its what they expect children to be aiming at more towards the end of Year 2? But I’m not sure if expectations will change this year.

Are there exams at different times today? We had four groups at 8.45 but there must be later ones as we didn’t get that far through the alphabet?!

Yes there were later groups as we were in one of the later groups.

Bump! @taj0112 and others, just saw this post and wondering if anyone is joining Leh this September? We did receive an offer, the thing is we don't know anyone from the current cohort who applied, and are still working out our decision.

We are still waiting for the letter. I wonder if it's no offer for us as no letter yet Congratulations to those with offers.

Amarzoo we had friends who received waiting list offers on Saturday - I think they sent them all at the same time. Fingers crossed it arrived today and it’s good news!

@Amarzoo I believe the email also mentioned to wait right upto Tuesday, so perhaps give it today. Hope its positive news once you get it, good luck! x

Hi, My DD also received her offer letter and I'm happy to DM regarding joining this September..we are wondering between Bute and LEH so not 100% sure just yet..

We finally got the letter. It's a no for us.

@Amarzoo I’m really sorry to hear that. I know how emotional it can be.

Jumping in, we have gotten an offer (still waiting to hear back from Bute and others too), and mulling over the decision. Happy to DM to have a quick chat. Curious in particular about recent results (through the grapevine) + potential need for tutoring.

Is anyone declining a LEH offer? We are on the waitlist so just wondering if there’s any chance it may move once the acceptance deadline passes on Monday.

Old thread I know but any tips/ feedback on the assessment day (second stage) please?

@AV14 Congratulations to your Dd for reaching this stage. Our Dd said it was a fun session in, and she really enjoyed it. They were split into groups and were given some activities to complete, logical, reasoning, problem solving games and puzzles, creative/craft etc. Sounds like it tests their natural ability in a few areas, and a bit of chat with the teachers giving them a chance to see their social and team skills. The School seem clear on what they are looking for. Our advice to DD was go in, do you best and have fun! Good luck to your DD!
