Primary maths challenge 2021 boundaries

Haven't got any reply from another thread under "education " so I copied it here. Thank you for reading.

Dear all, have your DC taken this year November primary maths challenges? Have they got the results yet? I understand different schools use different boundaries for gold, silver and bronze and the boundaries really depend on the cohort in the school. Would you mind sharing your DCs results?

Dd achieved 16 out of 25. It be nice to find out her current level. she hasn't received any certificate yet from the school. To be honest whatever certificate she gets doesn't really matter. she tried really hard if she doesn't get anything, I probably draw a medal for her myself Grin

Hm interesting - dd wasn’t told her result but was told she qualified for silver which apparently quite a few others in her year did. Only 3 golds were awarded. It’s a very large state primary with quite a high ability intake.

I don’t know the score for the real ring, but DC did a practice paper (may have been last year’s) and got 21

sorry pressed post too soon…
… she got gold, so 21/25 was the approx level she was working at prior to the test.

You buy papers in packs of 10.
With each pack come 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze certificates.

So it will depend school to school, cohort to cohort.

Only 19+ scores go any further.

It is very competitive... The main thing is to let the kids to have fun and feel a sense of achievement. Bear

I am in the US but my cousin on the family WhatsApp group said her son got gold (Year 5 I think- same age as my fourth grader in the US). And she said he got 22/25 and is sitting the bonus round.
